GASB Reporting

The GASB Reporter is a reporting module that creates the standard financial reports included in the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and is designed to comply with the most recent GASB standards. The GASB Reporter was designed based upon the GFOA's "Blue Book." The GASB/GAAP Reporting Modules are great solutions to automating the state reporting process. Year end data is pulled into the GASB or GAAP Reporting System from the Accounting System. This allows the financials to be presented in a GASB or GAAP presentation format in order to comply with state reporting requirements.

GASB is Designed to Function as Follows:

Using Microsoft Excel, information can be imported to the GASB Reporter from any financial application. If your current application does not allow output to Microsoft Excel, the information can be manually input  from your end of year cash reports.

The GASB Reporter will automatically interface with Software Solutions' products.

The first year that the program is used the GASB codes are set up for all accounts. This includes function, activity and revenue codes. These codes are then used from year to year without further setup needed.

After all of this information is transferred or entered and codes are assigned to all accounts, a trial balance is produced to assure that the system is in balance.

Modified accrual entries can then be entered into the system. Once these are entered, they are posted and a posting report is produced. The first year the system creates sample entries for all of the typical modified accrual entries. In subsequent years, this defaults to the modified accrual entries from the prior year.
