The City of Delphos Joins the SSI Family!

Located in northwest Ohio, Delphos is proudly known as America’s Friendliest City and now, it’s also one of the smartest when it comes to modernizing city operations.

The city recently selected the VIP Suite—including VIP Accounting, VIP Payroll, VIP Analytics, VIP Asset Management, and the VIP Employee Portal—to replace disconnected systems and manual workarounds that were slowing things down.

With these new tools, Delphos is saying goodbye to paper-heavy processes and hello to a more connected, efficient way of working.

Where Things Got Complicated

Delphos was spending too much time on tasks that should’ve been simple. Their tools weren’t integrated, which led to extra steps and slower service.

  • Each department operated under one annual blanket PO. That made it hard to track spending and plan accurately.

  • Budget data wasn’t available in real time. Departments had to wait on emailed reports to check their balances.

  • Invoices weren’t scanned or attached to transactions, making recordkeeping and audit prep harder.

  • Bank reconciliations happened in spreadsheets—outside the system.

  • Grant and project tracking lacked visibility.

  • Reporting was limited and often required pulling data manually.

And the payroll and HR side had its own challenges:

  • 1094 and 1095 forms were created manually, which took extra time and increased the risk of errors.

  • Unemployment reporting wasn’t centralized, so data had to be pulled from multiple places.

  • Accruals and deductions—especially retirement plans—were tough to manage in their old system.

  • Employees didn’t have self-service access, so HR had to handle every request, from pay stub copies to time off balances.

  • Payroll runs were stressful, with too many moving parts and not enough automation.

What's Changing With VIP
